Officially licensed piece for Bottleneck Gallery in collaboration with Marvel Studios. I was pumped to pay tribute to a film that started the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe. I still remember seeing it in the theater for the first time with my friend Jeremy and being completely blown away. I always liked Iron Man in the comics, and was amazed at how perfectly Robert Downey, Jr. brought Tony Stark to life and how incredible Jon Favreau’s vision was for the film. When Tony Stark first put that red suit on, I forgot that I was watching a movie — it felt so real. Speaking of that, it always feels surreal making something with Marvel’s stamp of approval. I hope my inner teenager never loses the spark of realization that this current reality is one that seems utterly unbelievable. I would never have believed at 13 that I would have even the slightest involvement with companies and characters that shaped my youth. I’m so grateful for the opportunity — thank you sincerely to all involved.
